Breast lift

Breast lift

Loss of elasticity and sagging of the breasts can occur with age, pregnancy, and fluctuations in body weight. Sagging breasts can be corrected with mastopexy or a breast lift. Further, it can even out things like asymmetry. Breast augmentation or reduction are two procedures that are sometimes performed with a breast lift. While there are potential benefits immediately, there are also some potential dangers.

A plastic surgeon can do the following during a mastopexy procedure:

  • Raise the breasts higher on the chest.
  • Make your breasts more uniform or symmetrical.
  • Reduce the size of your areola (the dark area surrounding the nipple) and position it so that it faces forward rather than downward.
  • Cut away any excess skin that may have stretched with time.
  • Give your breasts a rounder appearance by reshaping them.
  • Tighten your breast tissue so that your nipples and areolas are better supported.

Procedure for Breast Uplift

Peri areolar

Scarring occurs around the reduced areola after this procedure. Women experiencing mild to moderate breast skin laxity are good candidates for this technique.

Vertical or “Lollipop” Incision

An incision around the areola and a second, longer incision from the areola’s base to the inframammary fold. Persons with mild to moderate skin laxity will benefit most from this technique.

Inverted T Breast Lift

The inframammary fold, or the underside of the breast, is where another incision, similar to the lollipop incision, is made to remove even more excess skin. Scarring is the worst with this method, but it’s the best option for women with huge breasts with a lot of hanging skin.

Are you healing from a breast augmentation?

Breast uplift surgery immediately results in discoloration, extreme firmness, and swelling. Usually, you could go home the same day.

Most women return to work and other routine activities in two to three weeks. After two weeks, you may be able to return to work, depending on the nature of your job, and perform light activities like lifting young children.

Getting back into your routine should be easy with the help of some regular exercise. Your TGS surgeon should be consulted before beginning any form of physical activity.

After a breast lift, the procedure’s results gradually improve over the first six months. The firmness and spontaneity of your breasts should improve.

To lessen the likelihood of complications, your surgeon will give you detailed instructions before and after surgery. Feel free to contact us with any inquiries or concerns during your recovery.
