Cheek implant

When performed for cosmetic reasons, cheek augmentation and implant surgery can help refine a patient’s facial profile as they age. Different-sized and shaped synthetic materials, some rigid materials, are used for the inserts. This treatment is helpful for people who have a thin face or an abnormally shaped cheek. This common practice is used to address aesthetic issues by adding visual flourishes.

How Do Cheek Implants Benefit You?

Facial implants are a fantastic method for achieving a more symmetrical and well-balanced facial appearance. Misaligned proportions often draw attention to the faulty parts of a structure. Cheek implants are an excellent option for people who have experienced volume loss or sagging in their cheeks. This creates a more youthful and organic contour in the midface.

The Cheeks Implant Method

Our surgeon will consult with you about your ideal body shape before performing any procedures. Then, you and our highly trained surgeon will discuss what implant for your cheeks would look best and how big it should be.

Under a general anesthetic or sedation, cheek implants can be placed. The inside of the cheek is cut open at the level of the upper jaw. There will be no outward signs of surgery when cheek implants are placed via the mouth.

The implant may be reshaped during surgery to ensure a tight fit against the patient’s natural bone. The implant is placed through the gums into the desired location. The surrounding tissue is stitched up to keep the cheek implant in place. Typically, the operation itself lasts about an hour and a half.

It would be best if you were back to normal within a week, with minimal bruising and swelling, as reported by most of our patients who have undergone cheek augmentation. Your mouth may need up to six weeks to fully heal before seeing the final results.

Since the incisions are inside the mouth, we advise a liquid diet for the first week. The sutures will dissolve naturally over time, so there is no need to have them removed.
